UKs 1st Alcohol-Free Festival

UKs 1st Alcohol-Free Festival

This weekend, the beautiful Somerset hills came alive with the UKs first-ever alcohol-free festival at a family farm in Emborough. Organised by the amazing Dryy team—Matt Pink, Andy Ramage and Chrystal Day—along with dedicated life members of the Dryy community, this event was a true celebration of sobriety. A special shoutout to Chris Hood and his family for generously offering their farm as the perfect venue and helping on the day.

The day was filled with inspiring talks from Katie, Matt and Carmela, who shared their personal journeys with alcohol. Carmela’s heartfelt story, especially about a friend who inspired her to rethink her relationship with alcohol and who is sadly no longer with us, brought many of us to tears. It was a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have on our lives.

Wellness sessions were a highlight, with yoga with Rosanna, breath-work by the wonderful Adele and journalling classes offering a space for relaxation and reflection with Sally. Anneke’s Tarot readings were a hit, with a long line of eager participants waiting for their turn. Suzanne ran a tranquil chill-out area, providing a peaceful haven where attendees could unwind and enjoy calming activities.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful connections. Delicious food and alcohol-free drinks flowed freely, creating a warm and welcoming environment where old friends reconnected and new friendships blossomed. Meeting people face-to-face after following their journeys online was something truly magical.

One of the best parts of the event was how family-friendly it was. The kids' area was a hive of activity with sports, face painting and more, ensuring everyone had a fantastic time.

In the afternoon, Poppy’s acoustic set was a highlight, with her beautiful voice providing the perfect soundtrack as everyone basked in the Somerset sun. The festival concluded with an energetic live DJ set and dancing, leaving everyone on a high note.

I had the best time and am incredibly grateful to everyone who organised this amazing event. It was a huge success, and I can’t wait for Dryy Fest 2025! Thank you for creating such a memorable and meaningful experience, to find out more about the Dryy community head here!
